It Had Its Success, Created By Charles Jundt


After Moving Into A Salon In New York City, 


Located At The Ritz Hotel, Later Known As The Ritz-Carlton, 


About 1916...


New Products Had To Be Created


A Cosmetics Company Was Founded 1919.


In 1926, A Name Was Added, 


"Charles Of The Ritz".


The Product Worked Well, Was Marketed, 


And Sold A Nice Selection. 


A Team Was Created To Manage 


And Perform Marketing Tasks.


In 1927, Perfume Was Added To The Line.


In 1935, Charles Of The Ritz Launched 


Another Product Line Label, Called Jean  Naté.


Mainly Body Splashes and Fragrance. 


A Very Successful Brand. 


Charles Of The Ritz Expanded Distribution.


From Upscaled Salons To Upper End Department Stores.


Advertising The Magazines To Promote The Line. 


The Original Ad Appeared On A Magazine Page


Published In 1953. 


In 1963, Ritz Acquired Eighty Percent Of The House


Of Yves Saint Laurent. 


Then Launched An Entire Line Of Skin Care And Make-Up


Under The Yves Saint Laurent Beaute Brand Label.


There Is Allot To The Story Of New Products. 


 Cut To The Chase


Yves Saint Laurent sold Charles of the Ritz Incorporated 


(Excluding Yves Saint Laurent Beaute) To Revlon In 1987. 


Charles The Ritz Began To Slip With The Image And Prestige,


Lacked Consumer Recognition,Where Marketing Wanted To Move.


In 1991 Another Launch Of A Line Called Express.


Which Aimed At A More Savvy Customer And Targeted 


Mid-Priced Stores Like J.C. Penny Type, At The Time. 


The Focused Was On The Mature Minded Customer.


With Failed Attempts To Keep The Brand Alive. 


Revlon Shut Down Charles Of The Ritz In 2002.


 Many Of The Former Ritz Fragrances, 


Such As Enjoli, Are Sold Today Under The Revlon Name.


The Original Make-Up Is Still Part 


Of Yves Saint Laurent Beaute Label.
